This morning was another day at the pool with sunny weather again. We started out with a walk going North from our hotel. We walked to the punta (point) of the Cancun hotel zone. This was about 2.5 miles one way, so our total walk was 5 miles. This is a very nice section of beach for a walk and beautiful water colors.
In the afternoon, we took the bus down to Scuba Cancun. This was my FIRST ever scuba dive! I was PADI certified 19 years ago, but never did a dive after that. Two weeks before this trip, I went to Wateree Dive Center in Columbia, SC for a scuba skills update course. My dive experience in Cancun was great! Francisco, the dive master, was very helpful. We dove at the Cancun Underwater Museum (max depth about 30 feet) between Cancun and Isla Mujeres.
The museum consists of 450 permanent life-size sculptures, the largest underwater artificial art attraction in the world. The sculptures are made and designed to become artificial reefs to become coral areas for marine life. The sculptures will change over time as the coral grows and marine life colonize the sculptures.
